Coq au vin
Ingredients (in order of appearance):
Salt & pepper
(How much of it all? Follow your instincts!)
Rub salt and pepper on the chicken. Bake the chicken until it’s gold on every side and then take it out of the pot. Fry the garlic, onion and bacon. Then add the paprika, carrots, mushrooms and bake them slowly. After about five minutes put the chicken back into the pot. Add the red wine, drown the ingredients in it. Add the herbs, salt and pepper.
Let it simmer for at least two hours.
About 15 minutes before you serve it add the cognac. 5 minutes before serving add the sour cream.
Serve with mashed potatoes and French beans.
